database projects data analysis & report generator The database system created for Tellabs brings everything together. Raw data is imported into an Access database, charts and graphs are generated in Excel and finally Word is used to create fully formatted reports.
Tellabs produce signal processing equipment for use in telecommunications. They needed a system that could import large quantities of raw test data collected on site. This data needed to be analysed and complex calculations performed. The final reports needed to include lots of graphs to make sense of the data and Excel was used to create these. Excel also provided an environment to adjust the range, scale and format of the graphs. Finally the user needed to be able to create a finished report by simply selecting the report sections and charts required and clicking 'OK'. An animated demo of the tellabs database system can be seen here... form reader This application was developed for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to enable them to capture the data from members' registration forms. Using a minimal number of keystrokes and a hand-held barcode scanner, the application allows data from a large number of forms to be read very rapidly.
The recorded data is then turned into batch files that can easily be imported into the society's main database. To meet the society's tight time schedule, this application was designed, built and delivered in under three weeks. An animated demo of the software can be seen here.... 'arena' property database The 'arena' property management database was developed for Atis Real Weatheralls to manage portfolios of properties. The system takes data from the company's central valuation system and allows this data to be linked with all sort of other information, plans and pictures of the properties. For more information and screen shots of this database click here.... contacts database This database application was developed for Skanska Jensen International to enable them to manage their contacts. The front end to the application (which can be seen below) was written in Visual Basic and the data is stored in a separate Access database. This means that the application takes up less screen space and allows for greater versatility. Amongst the features are export to Psion organisers, telephone number dialling, creation of letters and faxes and advanced search facilities.

The system consists of two applications - a data input application to collect the data about the trades performed and the data reporting application to provide the reports and charts. Both of these applications were written in Access using a SQL Server database as the shared data source. analysts database Developed for Fidelity Investments, this database is used to manage Fidelity's investment analysts.
